Watson Education Center Nominated for PHRA Award

The Watson Institute’s Education Center Sewickley was recently nominated for the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association (PHRA) Engaging Pittsburgh Award for our Team Coordinator position. The Team Coordinator position was designed to retain professional staff with their vast knowledge and experience, and enhance their professional development, while supporting strong educational outcomes for our students.

Team Coordinators at the Education Center Sewickley are a group of professionals with varying educational backgrounds, which adds to the value of the team and the depth of their knowledge. Many of the Team Coordinators were promoted to the role after working as teachers, speech therapists, behavioral specialist and occupational therapists at the Watson Institute.

The Watson Institute recognizes the importance of retaining our greatest resource: our knowledgeable staff. Through the Team Coordinator position, we are able to provide leadership development and growth opportunities for our employees. Because of the success of this position, we are exploring the implementation of the Team Coordinator position model within other areas of programming across the Watson Institute.
