Special Education School Programs

At the Watson Institute’s newest special education school, the Education Center South, we offer an approved private special education school program that is licensed to serve children ages 5 to 21 with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, cerebral palsy, neurological impairments, and other developmental disabilities. At the Education Center South, classrooms are staff by a special education teacher and two instructional aides. Students with special needs also receive supports from physical, occupational, and speech therapists, social workers, behavior specialists, on-staff nurses, and teachers of the visually impaired. Students at our special education school also receive special classes such as art, music, and adapted physical education from certified teaching staff.

WISCA (Watson Institute Social Center for Academic Achievement)

Watson’s Bridgeville location is also home to a special education school program designed to help students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder complete school utilizing an online curriculum that is adapted to meet the needs of each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Students at WISCA may choose their elective classes so they are suited to the student’s unique interests. Special education staff in this program also provide students with therapeutic instruction in language and social skills, organizational and life skills and community based instruction to help them prepare for a smooth transition into adulthood after graduating from the program.

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services

At Watson’s newest location, outpatient behavioral health services are being offered for children with special needs, and behavioral and mental health challenges. Check out our comprehensive offering of outpatient mental and behavioral health services for children and adolescents up to the age of 21. Your child does not need to be enrolled in a Watson Institute special education school program to be eligible for these services. Currently, Watson offers individual therapy, medication management, Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), and social skills group therapy at the Bridgeville location.
