Special Education School Programs

Education Center Sewickley
At Watson Institute Harry S. Tack Education Center Sewickley, we offer an approved private special education school program that is licensed to serve children ages 3 to 21 with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, cerebral palsy, neurological impairments, and other developmental disabilities. At the Education Center Sewickley, classrooms are staffed by a special education teacher and two instructional aides. Students with special needs also receive supports from physical, occupational, and speech therapists, social workers, behavior specialists, on-staff nurses, and teachers for the visually impaired. Students at our special education school also receive special classes such as art, music, and adapted physical education from certified teaching staff.

Watson Institute Social Center for Academic Achievement (WISCA)
Watson’s Sewickley location is also home to a special education program called WISCA (Watson Institute Social Center for Academic Achievement). This program is designed for students with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them work towards their educational goals through an online curriculum while also receiving therapeutic supports. Special education staff support students, helping them to build their language and social skills, organizational and life skills, and pre-vocational skills to help them prepare for life after graduating from the program.
