Groundbreaking Ceremony

Watson's Executive Committee broke ground with the Kosky Family (far right).

The Watson Institute held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new school for children with special needs in South Fayette Township.  The new school will essentially replicate the programs and services offered at Watson’s Education Center in Sewickley, PA.  More than 50 friends of Watson attended the event.  They included representatives from local school districts, South Fayette Township municipal employees, commissioners and school board members, and Watson’s corporate partners.

“This location in southern Allegheny County will grow our geographic footprint and allow us to serve more children, particularly those further to the south and west of our current school in Sewickley,” said Barry Bohn, Chief Executive Officer at The Watson Institute.

The 18.5 parcel on Hickory Grade Road in Bridgeville, PA was purchased from John and Madeline Kosky.  The Koskys attended the ceremony and presented a $200,000 donation to The Watson Institute.  The Watson Institute is grateful to John, Madeline and the Kosky family for this most generous gift.  The students and families we will serve at this location will be grateful as well.
