Clinical Supervisor Job – Friendship Academy

The Watson Institute is hiring a full-time Clinical Supervisor at Friendship Academy, a special education school for children ages 5 to 21 located 4 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the overall clinical supervision and the development or the outpatient and partial programs.

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborates with the program director, the educational director and the learning community supervisors regarding policies and procedures, placement decisions and clients’ mental health care through weekly supervisor meetings and agency meetings
  • Oversees regulatory compliance of outpatient and partial programs and participates in preparation for audits
  • Co-leads clinical meetings with MDs and psychiatric nurses
  • Directly supervises managed care coordinator, social workers, and outpatient therapists
  • Oversees case assignments in collaboration with the managed care coordinator
  • Oversees and coordinates social workers and outpatient therapists’ performance and productivity
  • Reviews clinical documentation and cosigns outpatient therapy notes
  • Provides biweekly group clinical supervision and weekly individual clinical supervision to social workers and outpatient therapists
  • Provides biweekly group clinical supervision and clinical consulting as needed to the milieu staff (classroom therapists, support therapists, teachers, classroom assistants)
  • Collaborates and advises on group therapy program with learning community supervisors
  • Attends the treatment team meetings and the learning community meetings
  • Provides treatment guidance and problem solving on the milieu
  • Oversees psychiatric crisis assessment and interventions
  • Serves as point of contact for critical incidents in the absence of the Clinical Director, assures required follow up with CCBHO
  • Leads interview and hiring of mental health staff
  • Participates in orientation and training of new employees
  • Responsible for reviewing clinical interns and assignments
  • Oversees and organizes professional development of mental health staff
  • Assists with the marketing of outpatient and partial programs
  • Attends County and Managed Care meetings as assigned
  • Keeps Director informed of salient program issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LPC)
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical supervision, training, program management, and staff development
  • Strong organizational skills, leadership skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills required
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Current PA clearances 34, 114, and 151 required
