Building Manager – Sharpsburg

The Watson Institute is hiring a full-time Building Manager to oversee Maintenance operations at our Sharpsburg, PA location. This position will work Monday through Friday.

Building Manager Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee that all general cleaning, mopping, sanitizing, and vacuuming of classrooms, bathrooms, or any other assigned areas of the facility are conducted and/or assigned to the appropriate staff member
  • Regularly inspect property for needed improvements and maintenance
  • Maintain building appearance at all times
  • Conduct building inspections as directed by supervisor
  • Schedule and prioritize repairs or maintenance when requested by staff or supervisor
  • Communicate with maintenance staff to coordinate assignments and prioritize maintenance requests
  • Coordinate and monitor preventative maintenance for all areas and equipment
  • Provide direction and guidance for maintenance staff assigned to the building
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies for building. Prepare purchase orders as necessary for supplies and equipment
  • Schedule and coordinate any outside vendor maintenance requests
  • Enforces and adheres to company policies, rules, safety practices, and regulations. Including keeping up-to-date on COVID related regulations
  • Other maintenance tasks including: stripping and waxing of floors and painting within the building
  • Snow removal and outside maintenance
  • All other tasks necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to follow directions well and work independently
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience
  • At least 3+ years of management experience preferred
  • Some electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical knowledge
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Current Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
