BSC Camp WISP Site Supervisor – Upper St. Clair
The Watson Institute is hiring a Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) Camp Site Supervisor for the Camp WISP program at Eisenhower Elementary in Upper St. Clair.
Camp WISP runs June 15- August 7, 2020, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Camp will be closed on July 3, 2020.
Mandatory training days will take place on June 9th & 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Watson Institute Education Center Sewickley.

Summer Camp Site Supervisor Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral consultation to children with autism and related disorders within a typical community setting (e.g. within a YMCA program for typically developing children)
- Devise and implement behavior management plans
- Implement autism-specific techniques such as Comic Strip Conversations and Social Stories
- Supervise camp direct care staff providing direct interventions to children and families; hold and conduct weekly supervision meetings for Watson camp staff
- Communicate with families on progress toward camp goals, enabling the family to maximize their child’s progress and independence in the home setting
- Serve as primary family contact regarding their child’s progress and issues throughout the duration of camp
- Assist children in developing social skills and facilitate development of peer interactions using autism-specific therapeutic techniques such as Social Stories and Comic Strip Conversations
- Maintain records and data necessary to monitor progress
- Collaborate with other involved professionals and agencies in order to provide unified services and continuity of care to the child and family
- Participate in treatment plan meetings (when applicable)
- Communicate with Camp WISP Coordinator and office staff regarding paperwork policies and procedures throughout the duration of camp
- Supervision and daily collection of direct care staff camp progress notes and other relevant paperwork
- Timely submission of all camp paperwork to office, including weekly submission of all progress notes to office staff
- Disbursement and collection of camp materials to direct care staff and the return of materials to office
- Completion of end of camp data summary reports on all campers
- Completion of end of camp reports and direct care staff overall camp job performance
Camp Site Supervisor Job Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in relevant field
- At least one year’s experience working with children who have special needs
- Experience working with children who have autism spectrum disorder and their families preferred
- Knowledge of a range of autism spectrum disorder intervention techniques preferred
- Current PA Clearances: Acts 34, 114 and 151
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Availability to participate in swimming/pool activities
- Ability to participate in vigorous physical activities outdoors
- Must be available for training and all days of camp
