Students with exceptionalities who receive special education services all have an IEP (Individualized Education Program) which outlines the goals they will work towards, supports they will need, and additional instructions or services that will help them to succeed at school.

An IEP at a Glance is a one-page document or abbreviated IEP that can help you quickly and concisely evaluate your student’s goals, motivators, strengths, and review any modifications or specific instructions the student needs to be successful.
Think of it as a quick reference guide you can use as you plan activities and lessons!
Since IEPs are updated at regular intervals, be sure your IEP at a Glance is also kept up-to-date with the latest version of your student’s full IEP.

This summary EXAMPLE provides information on student needs, reinforcers, and motivators located in a student’s IEP that can aid in room and material design as well as promote incorporation of IEP goals into the teaching process throughout the day.
Supplemental IEP at a Glance Tools:
IEP at a Glance_Expanded: This expanded example document includes the Prevention and Consequence pieces of a student’s Positive Behavior Support Plan. In addition, it categorizes the Specially Designed Instruction section of a student’s IEP with specific headings for easy understanding.
If a student’s IEP includes a behavior plan, the following two documents are examples of information that may be located in the behavior plan and can then be placed on notecards, laminated, and carried by team members working with the student.
