Jigs N Things

Jigs N Things cover

For teachers and parents alike, it is often difficult to create new and interesting tools for children that reinforce various learned concepts. “Jigs-N-Things” is a book that provides ideas for activities such as matching, sorting, sequencing, reading and addition, as well as other applied skills.  The materials needed and directions for each activity are included, as well as information related to what skill each “jig” (hands-on activity) promotes.  Because each activity uses common household, office or classroom items, jigs are easy to assemble.

After a child is taught how to use the jig, he or she is typically is given the opportunity to complete the task independently.  The child can then utilize the activity during quiet times or during scheduled independent work times throughout the day.
