Extended School Year (ESY) 2012

The Education Center at The Watson Institute

The Education Center's Extended School Year (ESY) program 2012 is designed for children with special needs who qualify for ESY services.  In accordance with a student's IEP, the program consists of adapted educational and therapeutic services for children with autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, neurological impairments, develomental delays, brain injuries and other impairments.

Age range:  5-21

Program dates/times:  June 25 - July 20, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  No program on July 4.

The Watson Institute Friendship Academy

Friendship Academy's Extended School Year (ESY) Therapeutic Program 2012 is designed for children with emotional needs who qualify for ESY services and who would benefit from educational/therapeutic programming.  In accordance with the student's IEP, Friendship Academy's ESY program is designed to facilitate progress towards individualized academic and behavioral goals throughout the summer within a structured learning environment.

The partial hospital program provides intensive therapeutic treatment which supports medication management, interpersonal skill development, coping skill development, and other relevant therapeutic issues.

Age range:  5-21

Program dates/times:  June 26 - July 26, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  No program July 4.  Breakfast and lunch provided.
