Pittsburgh is a Great Place to be an Intern

Pittsburgh is the second largest city in Pennsylvania, located at the confluence of three rivers: the Allegheny, the Monongahela and the Ohio. While offering all the opportunities of a large metropolitan area, Pittsburgh retains a small-town friendliness, a contributing factor in its honor as one of the most livable cities in the country.

Besides being the home of three leading universities and various colleges, Pittsburgh is the corporate headquarters for such companies as USX Corporation, Alcoa, Heinz, and PPG. A very sports-minded town, Pittsburgh supports teams in hockey (the Penguins), football (the Steelers), baseball (the Pirates), and most recently, soccer (the Riverhounds). Where can you see some of these teams play? Check out the two new sports facilities, Heinz Field (football) and PNC Park (baseball).

On the cultural front, Heinz Hall (located downtown) houses the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The Benedum Center for the Performing Arts is a short distance away. On its stage you will find the Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Civic Light Opera, and Pittsburgh Dance Council. Other attractions include the Mellon Arena, I.C. Light Amphitheater and Post-Gazette Pavilion where popular concerts are held. The Carnegie, which houses the Art and Natural History museums and the Music Hall, hosts internationally renowned exhibits.
